Lyndsay & Katie's Excellent Adventure:

As Bill & Ted said, "Be excellent to each other...Party on dudes!"

Katie & I took a much needed roadtrip this weekend to Kentucky. It couldn't have come at a better time for wanting/needing to get away. A roadtrip wouldn't be a roadtrip without:
  • Getting lost - check!
  • Eating lots of junk food - check!
  • Singing at the top of your lungs - check! Thank you to Jon Foreman & Chris Martin, especially to Chris Martin for his perfect vocal range for road trip belting
  • Emergency pit stops - which may or may not include peeing in the dark out in the middle of nowhere behind a tree because the rest stop was too sketchy
  • Getting into an "argument" - which may or may not have happened solely for the sake of being able to say we had one
  • Becoming acquainted with local culture - which may or may not have included frequenting new restaurants and reading a "local newspaper"
  • Being mooned & mooning - check! (bathroom in the woods...)
  • Smelling skunks - check, check, check, check, check!
  • Avoiding roadkill - check for the frog, check for the coyote, check for the raccoon!
  • Driving defensively to avoid crazy Ohio drivers - check!
  • Getting pulled over - did not occur, however, we tried our best with our open containers of bottled Ale8
  • Toll drama - check!
  • Car so dirty we had to squeegee the windows - check!
  • Being mistaken for college students - check!
  • Leaving later than planned - check!
  • Driving stunt moves to barely make our exit - check!
  • Missing our exit - check, check!
  • Asking for directions at a gas station - check!
  • Embracing the culture with our southern drawls - check!
  • Leaving a ridiculous voicemail - check!
  • Honking at state boarders - check!
  • Observing local wildlife - check!
  • Seeking the exact restaurant you want at that exact moment, to no avail - check!
  • Eventually reaching that desired site - check!
  • Exploring a small town (a really really small town) - check!
  • Following a sign that leads you nowhere - check! (literally - thanks Mar & Mom)
  • Dodging potholes the size of Texas - check! (most of the time)
  • Discovering creepy road names - check! (ex: skull fork road)
  • Noticeable difference in temperature - check!
  • Hospitable hosts - CHECK!!!
