Gender Revelation Party, Santa Barbara Edition

Our bestest Santa Barbara friends, Shane & Emily, are due with their first baby in September.  They were debating whether or not to find out the gender, and we shared with them about the option of a Gender Reveal Party.  They had never been to one or heard of one.  After taking time to think about it, they shared that they would like us to throw it for them using cupcakes, and for us to be the only ones to know going into the event.  We were honored!  They chose the Santa Barbara Mission rose gardens as the location.  It was a perfect Santa Barbara day.  Here's a recap of the party:

The set up - so gorgeous with the roses and the mission in the background!
Each guest chose either a mustache to wear or a pink bow based on whether they thought it would be a boy or girl.
Food included:
chocolate covered pretzels (both pink & blue)

Chocolate covered strawberries & iced cappucino

Isn't this dad-to-be's shirt awesome??!!
The parents were split 50/50

After snacking, it was time for THE Reveal
Raspberry Champagne Cupcakes with a blueberry & raspberry on top for boy or girl

The guests each stood on the side of the chalkboard that represented their vote

With all the cupcakes passed out, it's "go-time!"

Daughter and mother are embracing the anticipation

They peel their wrappers...

Prepare for the moment...
Bite in...
