Campus Tour

I promised a while back to have pictures from around campus.  In earlier posts there were photos of our place and our view outside, but none of campus.  Funny thing is, I never took the time to do it...but Andy did :)  He loves his camera - definitely one of his favorite "toys".  That, and tying flies.  He told me yesterday that he wants to open up a coffee shop with fly tying tables all set up ready to be used.  I thought it was a cool idea...if you live near a bunch of fly tyers.

Anyways, here's some photos.  The first is our tour guide:

Every campus has them, right?

This is the building called "Old Main"...it was the first building built on campus.  It currently houses many things, some of which include: the presidents office, registration, HR, and the higher education professors offices.

This is the dining hall.  You cannot see the lower level because of the trees, but there is a lower level which houses Admissions and Development.

This is the Student Center where the Res Life office is, mailboxes, a cafe, and much more...

This huge building going all the way up the hill is the Science Center.  Engineering and Biology are two of their largest majors.

I just love this picture because it shows how resourceful they are with the many hills on campus.  These steps are taken (down) to walk to the fieldhouse or (up) to go to the student center and some dorms.

This is the fieldhouse (athletic center).  On the right hand side you can see the turf football field.

This sign is just outside the fieldhouse.  The first ever college basketball game was played at Geneva College (just not in this current fieldhouse)...

This is the Library.  The people who donated money for the building wanted it to look like a church.  It was built in 1930!!!

This is the Reformed Presbyterian Church on campus.  It sits right next to the dining hall.

This is the road that goes through campus.  On the right hand side is the freshmen girls dorm.

This is one of campus security's vehicles...I think.  It cracks me up that their license plate is #1 Fan (Steelers).  EVERYONE here loves the Steelers...Go Bills!

This is Memorial, one of the guys dorms.  They have a fun tradition that if you live in Memorial all four years, you do this...

Throw a pair of shoes in the tree next to it!  Very creative!

This is the old gym that currently serves two purposes: it's where the marching bad practices and the lower level houses PISGAH offices and some rock climbing walls.  PISGAH is the outdoor challenge course located on the other side of the river.

These are the tennis courts with the freshmen guys dorm on the left.  The funny thing is that it's name is Pearce and the other dorm I just showed you was Memorial.  Seems like every campus I go to has a building with Pearce and Memorial!!!

This is one of the few houses still on campus being used for academic purposes.  These are practice rooms for music students.  The fence blocks off where they are doing construction.  They are in the middle of "beyond the bend" where there are turning the old Route 18 into a nice brick walkway.  It should be completed next summer...

Across the street is Pizza Joes - YUMMY!  It's one of our favs.

There is also a really nice coffee shop - The Beaver Falls Coffee & Tea Compay (or BFCAT for short).  They have a great selection and awesome employees.  Andy and I have a few friends who work there.  The owners are Alum and they live in the upstairs of this place.

That's all for the tour!
